I'd really missed having bright red streaks in my hair. Like, a lot.

This took me all afternoon, but to be fair, most of that time was spent waiting for my hair to dry between the auburn and the streaks, since I refuse to blow dry. Next time I do it, I'll probably spread the process across two evenings.

Seriously, I hadn't had streaks like this since I had the mohawk. I'm really pleased with how it came out.

So as mothers tend to do, mine asked me tonight what I wanted for my birthday when I met up with her for shopping and dinner. Really, I had no idea. So we shopped around a bit, and I found some suitable gifts for myself. What did I pick out?

Luggage* and bedding.

Though I'm sure that's largely due to us not going anywhere that carried Rock Band drum kits.

* The most important feature of which, as I explained to my older sister as we were leaving dinner, was that it was not black. Unlike just about everything else I own.
