Yes, indeed. An actual post. With actual content. Some general updates on how things are going:
The Band: We're gearing up for our Next Big Show, which is
about a week away. We have a bucketful of awesomeness in store for our audience. At our last big show, we introduced a new element to our performance: videos that are in sync with our songs. Well, at our
next big show, we'll have even more video, and some of the ones we had ready last time are new & improved. It helps that this time we had a few months to prepare them, rather than a few weeks, and Jeffry's got some better video editing software. (As an aside, hooray for me not needing to do the video work. His is
way better than I could have done.) There are other awesome things in store, that we
haven't introduced yet, so I spoil no surprises. If you haven't got your ticket yet, head over
here and pick one up, or if you see one of us regularly, money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Other music stuff: I continue to sort my collection, and acquire new music. I've also been scanning a few of the CD covers for stuff I have on disc that doesn't have album art in iTunes yet. I'm enjoying the DJ gig a whole hell of a lot, and am wishing that I had more free time for more regular shows, but such is life. I do still need my downtime, and radio doesn't count. I may be home for it, often by myself, but it's definitely not downtime. Doing some covering tonight, actually, at 8pm local (11pm eastern), if anyone is interested in tuning in. For those who missed it before, my schedule is
here, updated whenever I change something on it, and connection info is
here.Health: I fell sick on the trip back from Disneyland, and it took me roughly a week and a half to recover from it. I still occasionally have really nasty insomnia, which wipes me out far worse than it used to. I'm working on getting more consistent amounts of sleep overall, but it's a difficult battle. I've also decided to cut back on my soda intake (not caffeine, mind, just soda), especially in the evenings. I've switched a lot of my caffeine needs to iced tea, and most of my non-caffeine beverage needs to vitamin water. I'm not planning on cutting it out entirely, but the trip to the store last night was the first time I can remember making a trip that big that didn't involve at least four 12-packs of soda. In fact, there was no soda involved at all.
Entertainment: Trying to read more (seems like I'm
always trying to read more, and not always succeeding), but have gotten re-hooked on LEGO Star Wars II:
Electric Boogaloo The Original Trilogy. I got a PS2 copy finally (just had the PSP version before), and have been playing it some with
metaphorge, which has been a whole lot more fun than single-player, though our different approaches to the game can sometimes be problematic. ;) I'm also thinking that I may cut my GameFly subscription down to the one-game-at-a-time plan, because I get through them so slowly now that the more expensive plan doesn't make much sense. Also, I've almost run out of games for my queue. I'm wondering if there's a way to put it on hold for a while, since really I'm
not interested in all that many games, and by now I've gone through most of the ones I've wanted to try out.
I think that more or less catches me up with what I've been doing lately.
